Teen Feed Ushers in a Season of Change

As summer gives way to autumn, Teen Feed also ushers in a season of change. During this dynamic time, we remains focused on providing consistency, connection, and delicious meals for youth and young adults in need. Please join us in celebrating new beginnings for our friends and staff members:

Executive Director Megan Gibbard Departs
After 8.5 years of service, Executive Director Megan Gibbard is leaving Teen Feed. Megan is continuing her work in support of youth in need as the Project Manager for Youth and Young Adult Homelessness at King County. We look forward to working with Megan in her new role as she leads the effort to implement several system changes to better address the needs of homeless youth and young adults in King County.

Under Megan’s leadership and vision, Teen Feed has grown its programs to serve youth 365 days a year in the University District and to serve meals to youth in Auburn and South King County. She also expanded the Teen Feed staff from two to eight committed employees, created the STOP outreach program, led the first point in time count of unstably housed youth in the Pacific Northwest, Count Us In, and led Teen Feed’s strategic direction to serve more youth in need. Most importantly, Megan has created a culture of compassion, consistency, and collaboration, which continues to inspire Teen Feed’s approach to supporting youth and young adults. We look forward to celebrating our 25th Anniversary with Megan at Teen Feed’s Annual Celebration on Sunday, October 14th.

Ryan Fouts, Interim Executive Director
Former SLY Support Coordinator, Ryan Fouts, is now serving as our Interim Executive Director at Teen Feed. Ryan will be providing leadership as Teen Feed’s Hiring Committee works to identify a new Executive Director. Ryan has over four years of experience in support coordination at Teen Feed. His attention to detail, program experience, and thoughtful management style will support Teen Feed through the hiring and training of our new Executive Director. Ryan is also currently pursuing a Masters of Social Work degree at the University of Washington.

Katelyn Stickel, SLY Support Coordinator
Katelyn Stickel was first introduced to our community last year as a Teen Feed Coordinator. Katelyn was recently promoted to the position of SLY Support Coordinator, where she will be working directly with youth in need. Katelyn’s ability to build relationships and provide consistent and compassionate support will serve her well as she helps youth and young adults change their lives.  Katelyn will provide support coordination in the Teen Feed meal program, at the ROOTS Young Adult Shelter, and at the Teen Feed office.

Jason Ponnequin, Teen Feed Coordinator
We are excited to introduce Jason Ponnequin as the new Teen Feed Coordinator. Jason is familiar with the youth community in the University District through his work as a Program Manager at Sanctuary Arts Center (SAC). During his time at SAC, Jason supervised youth drop-in sessions while supporting SAC programs, activities, and volunteers. Jason brings an intentional and balanced communication style to the Teen Feed meal program and we are excited to have him as the newest member of the Teen Feed team!
